A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for "Parent’s Playbook: Supporting Your Student's Success!" With over 40 parents in attendance, it was truly inspiring to connect, share, and learn together as we explored ways to support our students and strengthen our Chameleon Community.

We're also coordinating STEM sessions for students of participating families, and we’re compiling the insights from our discussion to share with attendees. These outcomes will help guide our next steps — both as parents and as partners in leadership as we continue to shape our PTA programming. As our Principal, Ms. Collins, said in her weekly newsletter, "The energy and conversations were incredible, and I'm truly excited to see how your insights will help shape our school community's future." Does your child love to create? Encourage them to share their talents in the National PTA Reflections Program, a nationwide arts recognition program provided by the NPTA with support from NCPTA and our local PTA chapters that celebrates student creativity. Reflections invites all Carpenter Elementary students to imagine, create, and belong. 🌟 Why Participate? Reflections is a chance for students to explore their creativity and express themselves around a meaningful theme as well as possibly gain recognition at the school, county, state, and even national levels! 📅 Key Dates Submissions Open on Wednesday, September 10. Submissions Deadline is Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:59pm (No entries will be accepted after this time.) ✅ How to Participate All entries must reflect this year’s theme — “I Belong!” Think about what that means to you. Where do you feel most accepted, understood or safe? Who makes you feel like you're part of something? When do you feel most true to yourself? Then, create an original work of art that fits in one of the following six categories and submit it using the link below: 💃🏻 Dance Choreography 🎥 Film Production 📖 Literature 🎵 Music Composition 📸 Photography 🎨 Visual Arts Each student is allowed to submit ONE entry (in total), and if multiple entries are submitted, only the first submission will be considered and the other(s) whether within the same category or another will not be reviewed/accepted. 📢Know Your Division: PRIMARY (PreK-Grade 2) INTERMEDIATE (Grades 3-5) ‼️Follow the Rules All entries must meet State and National PTA guidelines. The featured books are full of adventures, dragons, survival, and friendship and the author will be here signing copies for our students. 👉To make sure your child gets their own book signed, please place your order by September 3rd 📲Order online here. 💵Or send cash/check (made to Carpenter ES PTA) to school with your child 📦Limited quantities will be available the day of the visit, so don’t wait! Let’s make this a dragon-sized celebration of reading! 🐲💚  🦎✨Track 3 and 4 parents and guardians-->Please join us for Curriculum Night TONIGHT from 5:30-7:00pm. The presentation starts at 5:30pm in the gymnasium, followed by an opportunity to go to your child's classroom and learn more about the curriculum being taught this year. If you have more than one child at the school, you will have time to also go to the other classroom(s). ✨🦎 🍕Then, you can enjoy popsicles or pizza with the PTA! The popsicles are free! If you are already a member of the PTA, you can purchase two slices of pizza for $5. If you are not a member yet, you can purchase an entire pizza and that will include the cost of membership! If you have any questions, there will be a PTA table set up outside of the gym tonight where you can also buy Carpenter spirt wear! 💚💛See you there!🍕     🎉🍄Level Complete!🍄🎉 A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing parents and students who powered up our Coin Challenge! Together, we collected an incredible $8,186 for our school!✨⭐ It was a tight race, but in the end…🏁 🏆4th Grade took the crown!👑 Join our Carpenter Chameleon Families Facebook group to see a video of the exciting reveal! Every grade leveled up and helped make this fundraiser a total success! We couldn’t have done it without this superstar community.💚 And a special shout-out to our dedicated staff and our wonderful principal, who went full Super Mario mode, Luigi costume and all, to deliver the trophy to our champions!🍄✨   💥What an amazing first week we have had with our coin challenge, thanks to everyone for their contributions! Below are the standings at the end of today with 5th grade pulling into first place!🏆 🪙We have raised a total of $2806.52 and we still have next week to go so anything can happen! Track 2, enjoy your track out and we are excited for Track 3 to return on Monday to join us in the fun! NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! See everyone on Monday for some more friendly competition!   ✨What great start to our Coin Challenge!!🪙 Here are the latest leaderboard standings, and after just 2 days our grand total collected is $1,399.40🎉 So keep bringing in those pennies, paper money and checks (can be made to CES PTA) for positive gains and silver coins to sabotage your opponents! The winning grade will win a very fun experience that will be announced soon! There will be no third party fundraisers this year, so all of the money collected this year through our collection events will go directly to the PTA as we make our way to our fundraising goal of $60,000! We appreciate all of your support! Also, remember to wear your yellow 💛tomorrow for responsibility day!  ✨🪙Here's how it works:🪙✨ Each grade level = one team/one Super Mario Character Pennies, dollar bills (any amount), and checks → Add to your team’s total. Silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars) → Subtract from a team’s total. Strategy tip: Put silver coins in another grade’s bucket to bring their total down! The grade with the most golden glory at the end WINS an EPIC PRIZE that even Bowser would be jealous of! Let’s-a-goooo! Bring those coins. Bring the strategy. Bring the fun.
